2009 DR3 Goldstone Radar Observations Planning


Background

2009 DR3 was discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey on  February 20, 2009.
It has an absolute magnitude of 21.4, that suggests a diameter 
within a factor of two of 150 meters.  We do not know its period or the spectral class yet.
This object will brighten to about 15.6th magnitude in mid-March.

We have a very short Goldstone track (75 min) scheduled 
on March 15. This date coincides with the closest approach of 2009 DR3 to Earth (0.018 AU or 7 lunar distances). 
We hope to obtain CW, ranging and 0.25 usec imaging data.

2009 DR3 has been classified as a "Potentially Hazardous Asteroid" by the 
Minor Planet Center.
